President and CEO
Daniel C. Gregory is co-founder and President of two renewable energy-focused companies; Plymouth Systems, Inc., a "smart-grid" integrator, and MegaWatt Solar, Inc., a solar power plant manufacturer. He has 23 years of experience as a power system engineer, entrepreneur, and employer. He has worked on electric utility automation projects worldwide for several major electric utilities. Mr. Gregory has also conceived and led the development effort of multiple monitoring, control, and systems products. He has filed two U.S. patents and is a member of the IEEE Power Engineering Society and CIGRE.
EVP- CTO
J. Christopher Clemens is a professional astrophysicist and cofounder of MegaWatt Solar. He is an associate professor of astrophysics at The University of North Carolina, where he conducts research in stellar astrophysics. Dr. Clemens also serves as director of the Abraham Goodman Laboratory for Astronomical Instrumentation and is on the board of directors of the Southern African Large Telescope, the largest telescope in the Southern Hemisphere. He has 20 years of experience in the design, construction, and operation of opto-mechanical systems.
VP- R&D
Charles R. Evans is a theoretical physicist and cofounder of MegaWatt Solar. A professor of physics and astronomy at The University of North Carolina, Dr. Evans has 25 years of experience in applying mathematical analysis and numerical techniques to the solution of complex physical problems. Dr. Evans is leading the analysis of how the shape of the flexible composite mirrors in the MegaWatt Solar design can be specified and controlled, and he is piloting the design of the thermal management system.
VP- R&D
Russell M. Taylor is a Research Professor of Computer Science, Physics & Astronomy, and Applied & Materials Sciences at The University of North Carolina, and a cofounder of MegaWatt Solar. Dr. Taylor is the codirector of the UNC NIH National Research Resource for Computer Integrated Systems for Microscopy and Manipulation, and is the Chairman of the board for NanoManipulator Inc. His research interests include scientific visualization, distributed virtual worlds, haptic display, and interactive 3D computer graphics.
CFO
Mathew Czajkowski has been Chief Financial Officer of several companies, including Pozen, Inc., for whom he managed its successful initial public offering in 2000. Prior to joining Pozen, Mr. Czajkowski was an investment banker at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he established and ran the merger and acquisition business in the Asia Pacific region. He also ran the Corporate Finance Department of Wheat First Securities prior to its acquisition by Wachovia. Mr. Czajkowski holds a Bachelor's degree from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
VP- Business Development
Peter J. Gregory joined MegaWatt Solar in the summer of 2006 to assist the founding members in raising capital, establishing strategic partnerships, acquiring senior staff, and expanding business development activities. Mr. Gregory is also the president of Tasnet International, a leading supplier of software for electric substation communications, networking, and data management. Mr. Gregory's career spans 26 years of military, manufacturing, business development and consulting experience. He has successfully formed, structured and re-structured numerous business entities, mostly related to the energy sector.
VP- Operations
James K. Floyd manages all aspects of MegaWatt Solar's operations, including project management, manufacturing, purchasing, and quality assurance activities. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University and has extensive experience in the field of operations management and quality control. Prior to joining MegaWatt Solar, Mr. Floyd served as Quality Manager and Systems Operations Manager for Areva T&D in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he was responsible for the financial performance of all projects and the management of the 2006 ISO certification process.
VP- Marketing
James M. Lamont has over 20 years of experience developing, marketing, and selling product and service solutions in both consumer and commercial markets. He began his marketing career at Nortel, where he created marketing programs to serve the telecommunications industry. Mr. Lamont has helped start several new business ventures, the most notable being Kalos Tours, a high-end international tour operator, recognized worldwide as a leader in the creation and delivery of luxury golf cruises. Mr. Lamont holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from McDaniel College and an MBA in Marketing from Duke University.
